About The Position

Responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocate, stacking, and counting merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift. This position is responsible for operating multiple types of forklift equipment in a rack warehouse environment. Forklift operator II needs to be able to operate the reach equipment up to 50 feet. Operator must operate this specialized equipment 50% or more of the time, under the direction of the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor.

At least three years of reach forklift experience.
Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 10 to12 hour shifts.
Frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above head.
Tolerance for temperatures as low as -10 below for periods of up to one hour.
Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation and able to access all areas of the building without limitations.
Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
Attention to detail
Basic math skills.

Previous experience working in a food processing and/or warehousing environment.
High school diploma / GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Stacks and stores frozen product and designated areas using an electric pallet Jack, order picker, sit down forklift, reach forklift equipment 50% or more of the service time.
Unloads inbound shipment safely and moves frozen product to storage locations.
Stores finished goods coming from production.
Pulls and prepares products for shipment.
Ensures that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Performs order picking duties and efficient manner meeting customer service needs.
Moves product from staging and or storage areas into trailers.
Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
Assist in physical inventories.
Ensures proper stock rotation.
Conduct cycle counts as requested.
Must have general computer knowledge.
Basic safety understanding in operating equipment.
Responsible for reporting safety concerns to management in a timely manner.
Report inventory discrepancies to inventory control team and assist in resolution.
Must be able to complete inspection prior to operating equipment.
Must be able to use an RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory.
Adheres to all common safety practices and procedures including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required.
Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as per management’s directives.
Adheres to the Company’s plant hygiene regulations to ensure high product integrity.
Ensures work area is kept clean and orderly in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP’s, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
All required PPE’s such as hair/beard nets, hearing protection, freezer suits, gloves, hats, etc. must be worn. Must wear reflective vests when loading and unloading.
Should not leave assigned work area unless given permission to do so.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
