About The Position

The NC Health Information Exchange Authority (NC HIEA) is seeking its next mission-driven, highly motivated and detail-oriented data quality team lead. The Data Quality and Integrity Team Lead will be the in-house data integrations expert, comfortable working with data and business processes to enable new and innovative use cases for NC HealthConnex, the state-designated health information exchange, as well as enhance the overall experience for NC HIEA participants across external NC HealthConnex services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development OR High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with health information exchange data standards and formats including HL7 v2, CCDA (Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture), USCDI (US Core Data for Interoperability) requirements and EHRs (Electronic Health Records) data exchange
  • Demonstrated experience developing, planning, documenting, and/or implementing data integration requirements as well as quality improvement processes
  • Demonstrated experience leading/managing the work of a team of analysts (under the direction of management) and assisting with their questions and concerns as needed

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Data Quality and Data Integration efforts within the NC HIEA while working closely with the vendor partner and participants
  • Managing the Data Quality Roadmap and Data Integration Standards, championing and training colleagues on how to work with participants on improving data while ensuring data is efficiently and effectively captured, processed, stored, displayed and disposed
  • Engaging with leadership, technology partners and other key stakeholders to drive adoption of good data integration and data management practices across the enterprise
  • Continually refining and executing the data management governance model, including data ownership, data quality standards and change management
  • Actively driving engagement and adoption to ensure data quality and data integration standards are maintained
