About The Position

The 2nd Shift Hi Lo Operator is responsible for performing all essential job functions as described for a Production Associate. This includes operating a powered industrial lift truck safely, moving materials to designated areas, unloading and stacking materials, and supplying workers with materials as required. The operator will also load and unload shipping trucks, interpret labels for proper material disposition, weigh materials or products, and maintain proper records of work performed. Additionally, the operator is authorized to refuel propane gas, train new or less experienced employees, perform maintenance checks on the Hi-Lo, and report any safety or mechanical problems to a supervisor. The role also involves continuous improvement in the shipping and receiving area as well as material processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial lift truck in a safe manner at all times.
• Move materials to avoid personal injury or damage to equipment, material product, or the facility.
• Unload and stack material.
• Supply workers with material as required.
• Load and unload shipping trucks.
• Interpret labels to ensure proper disposition of materials.
• Weigh material or products and record on tags or labels.
• Refuel propane gas as needed.
• Train new or less experienced employees on the job.
• Maintain proper records of the work performed.
• Perform maintenance checks to ensure the Hi-Lo is in proper working condition.
• Initiate action to prevent occurrences of nonconformities relating to product, processes, and quality systems.
• Report any safety or mechanical problems with the Hi-Lo to a supervisor.
• Fill out daily Hi-Lo maintenance check off list and a weekly scrap audit.
• Perform other essential job functions as assigned.
