About The Position

The Hi-Lo Bander position at Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, involves operating banding equipment and Hi-Lo machinery to ensure the efficient removal of finished products from the mill. Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Computer Knowledge
• Ability to use hand held measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Use of cutting torches
• Hi-Lo License

Responsibilities

• Follow workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube Inc. Policy & OSHA
• Follow verbal and written instructions
• Perform daily hi-lo inspections and report any deficiencies
• Operate automated banding machines
• Write information from bundle tag to side of bundle (Tag#)
• Verify bundle details match tag
• Stud welds bundle tag to both ends of bundle
• Inspect bundle for defects
• Drain excess coolant from each bundle using the drain table
• Use Hi-Lo to properly stack and align bundles, then transfer to warehouse or cutting bay
• Assist in mill changeovers
• Perform daily preventative maintenance
• Report any irregularities or malfunctions to managers and/or maintenance
• Assist maintenance in making repairs
• Assist other operators when required during breakdowns, bottlenecks, and scheduled downtime
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Know and follow LOTO procedures
• Other duties as assigned
