About The Position

The HGV Technician role involves comprehensive maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles and various construction and plant equipment. Key responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, performing routine servicing, and ensuring equipment meets safety standards. The technician will also conduct field service work, traveling to customer sites to address urgent breakdowns and provide on-site technical support. This position requires strong diagnostic skills, including interpreting schematics and using specialized tools, as well as effective communication with customers regarding repairs and maintenance advice. Documentation of service reports, warranty claims, and parts used is essential, along with coordination with parts departments and service managers to ensure efficient job completion.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults on construction and plant equipment
  • Carry out mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs
