Requirements

CNA preferred, but not required
Previous experience in caregiving role preferred
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and associates
Must be available after regular working hours and work weekends and holidays as necessary.

Responsibilities

Provide residents with companionship - playing games, watching TV, etc.
Remind residents to take medications, provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living such as showers and dressing
Escort resident to appointments as needed
Provide assistance with light housekeeping tasks, use of telephone, laundry, escort, transportation, and mail delivery
Assist with casual, cosmetic assistance - hair brushing, make-up, nail polish
Observe and report changes in residents' physical and emotional/cognitive condition
Monitor for any environmental hazards and report any incidents, errors, accidents
Participate in staff meetings, in-service education, projects, and committees as assigned
