Requirements

A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
American Board Certified in Surgery - General Surgery
Must have or be eligible for California State Medical licensure Completion of a residency program from an ACGME accredited program in surgery Fellowship trained in an accredited AHPBA (Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association) fellowship program or equivalent CGSO (Complex General Surgical Oncology) fellowship program with high volume HPB specific case experience
Complex laparoscopic and/or robotic HPB and intraoperative ultrasound experience
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a surgeon specializing within treating liver, bile duct and pancreatic cancer.
Well versed in the surgical and medical management of benign and malignant conditions in the liver, pancreas, bile duct and duodenum
Highly skilled and experienced hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) surgeon who will provide exceptional and evidence based surgical care for complex liver, biliary, and pancreatic conditions
Commitment to multidisciplinary team discussions, ongoing quality improvement, and patient centered initiatives
Have excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills Commitment to teaching, education, working with fellows
Focused on quality and standard of care Include an unedited, full video of a complex robotic pancreatic, liver, or bile duct case with no patient identification

Responsibilities

Surgical management/care for patients with benign and malignant diseases of the liver, pancreas and bile ducts, participating in related regional/ national/ international conferences, teaching fellows/students, and conducting clinical trials or other research.
Perform surgical procedures with precision and expertise, adhering to established protocols and national guidelines
Stay current with advancements in surgical techniques, technologies, and research.
Maintain accurate medical coding for procedures performed and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Provide compassionate care in various settings including clinics, senior care facilities, or hospice care environments as needed.
