About The Position

The Hemodialysis Technician performs technical duties in the dialysis unit under the supervision of the Dialysis Nursing Supervisor and/or Team Leader; performs assigned tasks independently and efficiently after instruction from medical professionals; responsible for specific areas of the dialysis treatment including preparation of equipment and safety devices, monitoring of vital signs during treatment process, observation of patient for adverse symptoms, documentation of assigned duties, and other tasks deemed necessary and appropriate for the overall efficiency of the dialysis unit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous medical or surgical experience is preferred.
• Successful completion of Hattiesburg Clinic Dialysis Units’ Hemodialysis Technician Program Certification.
• Ability to perform a variety of physical motions including standing, bending, turning, stooping, lifting, and climbing.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods without experiencing fatigue.
• Ability to assist with lifting patients and preparing equipment such as beds and chairs.
• Demonstrates ability to perform tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
• Tact and patience in dealing with chronically ill patients and their families.
• Willingness to accept supervision from medical professionals and function as part of the dialysis team.
