About The Position

JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Hematology & Oncology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Chambersburg, PA • Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: June 22, 2026 – Ongoing (approved through March 31, 2027) • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM • On-Call Shift Schedule: Nights and weekends; 1 week per month • Call Type: Inpatient + Phone • Call Ratio: 1 week/month • Callback Rate: Approximately 0–2 calls per day COVERAGE DATES • Ongoing full-time coverage; minimum 3 days per week accepted PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults only • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 15 patients per day (2 new patients/day) • Admissions: Included (consultative support) • Rounding: Limited; approximately 1–2 hours as needed • Phone Consults: Included • Case Mix: 2/3 Oncology and 1/3 Hematology; common cases include lung, breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers; some hematologic conditions FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 274 Hospital Beds • EMR System: Not Specified • Office Equipment Available: Infusion services, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IVIG, IV iron • Specialty Backup Available: Virtual hematologist support • Support Staff Available: 1 NP, oncology support team, nurse navigators • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: 90–120 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Oncology and hematology consults • Chemotherapy and immunotherapy management • Infusion oversight

Requirements

  • PA license required or willingness to obtain
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (dual board preferred)
  • DEA: Required
  • Fellowship required
  • Ability to supervise APPs
  • Comfortable with outpatient and consultative inpatient workflow

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferred but open to less experienced providers

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care
  • Manage treatment plans including chemotherapy and immunotherapy
  • Support inpatient consults and ER patient care as needed
  • Participate in call rotation (nights/weekends)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology team and tumor board
  • Maintain accurate documentation
