About The Position
Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Potsdam, NY Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: June 1, 2026 – Ongoing (6–9 month assignment) Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1 -hour lunch) COVERAGE DATES June 1, 2026 – Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults, Geriatrics Patient Volume/Census: 18–20 patients per day Admissions: Limited inpatient consults as needed Case Mix: Hematology/Oncology including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: Oncology infusion chairs (15 chairs) Support Staff Available: 1 MD, 1 NP, 3 CMA/CNA support staff Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (per facility guidelines) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Chemotherapy administration oversight Immunotherapy and targeted therapy management Oncology patient evaluation and treatment planning JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active NY license required Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology DEA: Required Experience: Minimum 5 years experience preferred Other Qualifications: Epic experience required; complete work history with no gaps over 30 days DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care Manage treatment plans and oversee infusion therapies Perform patient evaluations and follow -ups Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with facility standards
Requirements
- Active NY license required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
- DEA: Required
- Minimum 5 years experience preferred
- Epic experience required
- Complete work history with no gaps over 30 days
