Hematology/Oncology Pharmacist – Ambulatory Infusion Center Position Summary The Hematology/Oncology Pharmacist provides clinical and operational pharmacy services in an ambulatory infusion center. Responsibilities include anticoagulation management, oversight of sterile compounding of intravenous hazardous and nonhazardous medications, and provision of medication education and drug information to patients and healthcare staff. This role collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, effective, and patient-centered medication use. Job Description This Pharmacist will support our Outpatient Oncology and non-oncology Infusion Service in New Albany, Indiana. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for the provisions of safe, effective, and timely medication therapy, as well as utilization of knowledge and expertise in sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous medications in provision of pharmaceutical care. Additionally, this position is responsible for drug preparation and distribution of medications; evaluating, inputting and verification of medication orders; assisting providers and other health care professionals by serving as a drug information resource; monitoring chemotherapy regimens to ensure safe and effective treatment; and managing pharmacy inventory.
