As a Hematology Oncology Advanced Practice Provider at Allina Health, you will join a dedicated team passionate about providing transformative and enhanced care for the many individuals diagnosed with cancer each year in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Institute highlights: • Hybrid Academic-Community (Privademic) model of care – that seeks to incorporate the best features of academic programs within an easy access, community focused practice • Our system wide team includes approximately 80 highly trained oncology providers -that span surgical oncology specialties, medical oncology, radiation oncology and supportive/affiliated oncology specialties • Seventeen locations throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin • Best in class, integrative oncology program • Extensive high-risk cancer surveillance programming • Accredited by ACS, CoC, NAPBC, and APEx in support of oncology quality, excellence, and stewardship • An in-house genomic laboratory Key Position Details: The Allina Health Cancer Institute is seeking an Oncology Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing team. 1.0 FTE. Monday- Friday business hours. May consider a .8 or .9 FTE. Provide care for solid tumor and benign hematology patients. This is primarily a clinic focused position located at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. May cover other Cancer Institute sites in the NW region as needed. This role includes caring for active treatment patients, infusion center support, and survivorship visits. Inpatient rounding per department scheduling. Potential for future weekend rounding.

Requirements

  • Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire ( NP)
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) - National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants within specialty required upon hire.
  • MN NP/PA license required upon hire.
  • BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
  • Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire
  • Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Nice To Haves

  • New Graduates may be considered.
  • Prefer a minimum 2 years of experience in Oncology

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical care for patients
  • Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
  • Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
  • Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
  • Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
  • Refers for specialty care when determined.
  • Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
  • Participates in health care team
  • Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
  • Acts as resource to members of the team.
  • Works with primary care team for program development.
  • Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
  • Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
  • Other duties as assigned.
