Presbyterian Cancer Care Program is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematology Physician to manage telemedicine services for patients with Benign Hematology care plans and consultations. The position involves working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with 35 patient contact hours, 20/40 appointment lengths, and an average of 15-18 patients per day. The focus is on seeing patients with benign hematology test results and providing follow-up consults/care plans via direct-to-consumer video visits. Call coverage is not expected.

  • Evaluation, diagnosis, consultation and treatment of hematologic diseases of all types including blood disorders, anemia, blood clots, bleeding disorders and blood cancers.
  • Order and oversee diagnostic testing in alignment with NCCN guidelines.
  • Prescribe treatment and supportive medications.
  • Collaborate with the care team including palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, Speech, dietician, nursing, and research to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians as required by provider licensure.
  • Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum.
  • Participation in tumor board(s) is required.
  • M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Hematology or Hematology/Oncology.
  • New Mexico Medical License.
  • Board certified or board eligible in hematology.
