About The Position

The Helping Hands Associate plays a vital role in the operation of the thrift store under the supervision of the Thrift Store Manager and Social Services Manager. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service, managing donations, and ensuring the store is organized and welcoming. The associate will also engage in community outreach and assist with special sales and promotions, contributing to the overall mission of the Life Enhancement and Resource Network (LEARN) Division.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of retail management practices and procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and carry items weighing about 25 pounds.
• Skill in operating a cash register.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and direct them to appropriate areas of the store.
• Provide quality customer service and assist customers with clothing selection and sales.
• Receive and sort incoming donations, determining items for sale.
• Arrange stock on shelves and ensure merchandise is displayed properly.
• Prepare layettes for new parents.
• Oversee volunteers working at the store.
• Assist with promoting and advertising the store's goods and services.
• Help coordinate community announcements and advertising.
• Assist with special and holiday sales events.
• Coordinate charitable efforts with the Social Services Department.
