The Help Desk Technician provides technical support for employees in a fast-paced environment supporting both office staff and production by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues used in printing, mailing, bindery, and inkjet operations. This role supports a hybrid IT environment consisting of on-premises infrastructure integrated with Microsoft 365 cloud services. This is an on-site position with participation in an on-call rotation schedule. Work hours follow a weekly rotating schedule of 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM and 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM to provide IT coverage for morning and afternoon production operations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Help Desk or IT support roles.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems (XP through Windows 11 and macOS
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Understanding of hybrid IT environments combining on-premises systems and cloud services.
  • Understanding of virtualized environments such as Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
  • Familiarity with SFTP connectivity and user provisioning.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office and production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using PowerShell for automation and administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and troubleshooting authentication issues.
  • Understanding of Conditional Access policies within Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience supporting and managing Windows Print Servers and print environments.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to SIEM platforms and basic security event monitoring.
  • Experience supporting endpoint protection and antivirus solutions.
  • Awareness of phishing threats, social engineering attacks, and email security practices.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools used to monitor network health and performance.
  • Basic understanding of firewall technologies and network security controls.
  • Experience supporting production printing or mailing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end users via phone, email, remote support tools, and ticketing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system, and application issues, including installation, configuration, compatibility, and performance problems.
  • Perform new hire onboarding, including account creation, workstation setup, and access provisioning.
  • Perform employee offboarding, including disabling accounts and revoking system access.
  • Perform workstation setup, deployment, imaging, and configuration.
  • Manage users, licensing, and services in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Support Windows (XP through Windows 11) and macOS.
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Assist with Windows Server-based services, authentication, and access to network resources.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wired/wireless networking.
  • Provide technical support for production computing systems used in printing, mailing, bindery, and inkjet operations.
  • Support network printers, print servers, barcode scanners, and production peripherals.
  • Document incidents and resolutions within the IT ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex infrastructure issues to the Systems Administrator or IT Operations Lead.
  • Ensure all support activities comply with company Information Security policies and procedures.
  • Manage SFTP user provisioning and access permissions for secure file transfers.
  • Support shared folders, network drives, and access permissions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
