The Help Desk Support Associate provides Tier 1 support to users of computers and related equipment at the College of Lake County. This role is essential in assisting students, faculty, and staff with the effective use of technology, ensuring a productive operation of hardware and software. The position requires a commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.

  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware, software, peripherals, and networking issues.
  • Document and maintain all support requests in the ticket management system.
  • Communicate timely updates regarding technology interruptions or changes.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of technology standards and policies.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher OR Associates Degree with six months of IT experience OR two years of IT experience with one year in a support role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of customers.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Higher education experience in a community college setting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Video creation/editing experience (e.g., Panopto, Adobe Premier).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Interest in improving existing processes.
