About The Position

The Help Desk position at Motion Recruitment Partners is a 6-month contract-to-hire role based in Alexandria, VA. The role requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week, providing technical support and solutions for IT issues faced by end users. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field from an accredited college is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of technical experience in the IT field.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Proficiency in supporting Microsoft 365 products.
  • Experience working with EntraID and SCCM.
  • Experience with networking and internet-related technologies, including email clients, web browsers, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with IT helpdesk ticketing systems/software.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of desktops, laptops, and tablets.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of IT issues for end users, and recommend and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Perform hands-on tasks such as software installation and upgrades, hardware installation, file backups, and system configuration.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot IT hardware and software to meet desktop service standards.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and antivirus software.
  • Assist with hardware moves and relocations as needed.
  • Respond to support issues via phone, IM, or email.
  • Accurately document desktop equipment issues, repairs, installations, and removals.
  • Record and track the problem-solving process, documenting all steps from initial diagnosis to final resolution.
  • Gain familiarity with and support the software applications used within the organization.
  • Ensure all systems and services comply with current information security standards.
  • Develop and deliver training to end users on NCMEC IT resources.
  • Support external projects as directed.
  • Demonstrate loyalty to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and its mission of child protection.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with co-workers, management, law enforcement, and others.
  • Adhere to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Respond promptly to phone calls and correspondence.
