About The Position

The Helicopter Captain at Fanatics, Inc. is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the company's aircraft, ensuring compliance with all aviation regulations and company policies. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders, conducting pre-flight inspections, and mentoring crew members. The Captain plays a crucial role in maintaining safety standards and providing a comfortable experience for passengers during flights, which are primarily domestic with occasional international travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Class 1 medical certification.
  • Commercial Instrument with ATP CFI/CFII preferred (Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument).
  • Final authority for the operation of the aircraft assigned.
  • Extensive Helicopter IFR experience.
  • Northeast, specifically NYC flight operations experience.
  • AW 139 type rating.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mentoring and training crew members.
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all necessary aircraft currencies and pilot documents required for safe and legal flight operations.
  • Check weather, applicable NOTAMs, and determine fuel, oil, and maintenance discrepancies.
  • Complete an aircraft preflight inspection per the aircraft flight manual before each departure.
  • Determine aircraft weight and balance and perform performance analysis for required airports and heliports.
  • Ensure all flight planning requirements have been met and operate the aircraft in accordance with operator procedures and aircraft limitations.
  • Ensure that a flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable airport if any crew member or passenger is affected by injury, sickness, fatigue, or psychoactive substances.
  • Report hazardous weather or flight conditions to air traffic services as soon as possible.
  • Record flight times and aircraft defects, and complete post-flight duties including notifying Flight Operations of any deviations from the planned itinerary.
  • Notify the nearest appropriate authority of any accident involving the aircraft resulting in serious injury or substantial damage.
  • Ensure compliance with Operational Control procedures as prescribed in the Company GOM.
  • Support and participate in the Safety Management System.
  • Conduct passenger briefings in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and assist passengers safely to and from the aircraft.
