About The Position

The Helical Operator position at Applied Engineering involves installing Heli-coils into customer products as part of the finishing team. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow work instructions, and proficiency in using both electric and manual tools to install various threaded inserts and dowel pins into components.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Reading, writing, problem solving, and mechanical skills with hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to teach and train others as needed.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision after initial training period.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with measuring devices and basic prints.

Responsibilities

  • Install Heli-coils into customer products using electric and manual tooling.
  • Measure and visually identify nonconforming conditions and document these instances.
  • Perform heli-coil operations efficiently per work instructions on all customer products.
  • Assist in meeting work center and company goals by recommending and executing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in process improvements by suggesting and implementing ideas in collaboration with area leads and finishing personnel.
  • Utilize the automated scheduling system to maintain on-time delivery and follow priority direction from area leads.
  • Use small hand tools as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
