About The Position

Become a part of Heirlooms for Hospice and HopeWest in Grand Junction as the next Heirlooms Receiving Associate. This position has the unique opportunity to become a team member at one of the most frequented stores in Mesa County. This position, as a primary focus, is responsible for physically acquiring, moving, and storing donations. This position may also assist with overall store operations when needed & is VERY physical in nature with ability to team lift up to and potentially over 100 pounds frequently.

Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license, unlimited access to reliable transportation, and adequate automobile insurance maintained throughout employment.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds individually and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with a team lift.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail receiving, stocking and/or shipping preferred.
• Experience working with volunteers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in loading and unloading donated merchandise from donor’s car or Heirlooms van
• Removes furniture from the sales floor
• Maintain safety and organization of warehouse, and storage units.
• Move items from warehouse /storage area to other designated areas or charities
• Will drive the Heirlooms van for donations and store supply pickups
• Work some Saturdays
• Proficiency in basic computer programs and cash register operations
• Effective communication both written and verbal
• Demonstrates empathy for the challenges faced by donors, volunteers and teammates.
