About The Position

The Sheetfed Pressman is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining sheetfed offset printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials such as brochures, catalogs, labels, and packaging. This role ensures color accuracy, proper registration, and overall print quality while maximizing press efficiency and minimizing waste.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing preferred.
2+ years of experience operating sheetfed presses in a commercial or packaging environment.
Strong knowledge of offset printing processes, inks, substrates, and finishing operations.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for press equipment.
Ability to read and interpret job tickets, proofs, and technical specifications.
Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate sheetfed offset presses according to job specifications.
Read and interpret job tickets, proofs, and customer specifications to ensure accurate press setup.
Mix and adjust inks to achieve consistent and accurate color reproduction.
Monitor press operations for registration, color consistency, and print quality throughout production runs.
Troubleshoot mechanical and print-related issues to minimize downtime and waste.
Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
Collaborate with prepress, bindery, and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Maintain accurate production records, including press downtime, waste, and job completions.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize press performance and reduce waste.
