About The Position

Clocktower Group is an alternative asset management and advisory firm based in Santa Monica, California, with a presence in London and Shanghai. Our top-down macro framework and relationship-based investing approach inform our strategies and drive the way we do business. In public markets, we seed macro-oriented managers and invest in China-focused equities managers. In private markets, we invest in early stage fintech companies. We also provide global macro research, advisory services, and host events all over the world. (2026 events include Abu Dhabi, Austin, Santa Barbara, and Hangzhou.) We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Hedge Fund Analyst to join our investment team. As an Analyst, you will contribute to client/investor servicing, manager due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and investment research across Clocktower’s hedge fund platform. This role blends analytical rigor with operational excellence, offering exposure to the full life cycle of hedge fund investing—from due diligence through performance attribution and investor reporting. A competitive candidate will demonstrate a balance of analytical depth and strong administrative discipline. You should be intellectually curious, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in hedge fund investing, macro research, asset management, banking, or consulting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and administrative details with precision.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large datasets, financial models, and performance metrics.
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with CRMs or portfolio management systems a plus.
  • A collaborative, resourceful self-starter with strong communication skills and a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent organizational habits and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Process Management: Coordinate internal deliverables, track key deadlines, and ensure flawless execution of recurring investment and reporting tasks.
  • Manager Research & Due Diligence: Support investment evaluation and ongoing monitoring of hedge fund managers, including data analysis, performance attribution, and peer comparison.
  • Macro Research: Assist in the macro research process, including in-depth cross-asset and geopolitical research, chart creation, report layout, distribution, and presentation of reports.
  • Operational Support: Maintain accurate records of manager communications, diligence materials, and portfolio data in CRM and reporting systems.
  • Materials Creation: Draft and refine investment memos, slides, and internal presentations for committee review and client updates.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior investment professionals, operations, and investor relations teams to support firmwide goals.
