About The Position

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring for a Work at Home Bilingual Hebrew-English Video-Phone Interpreter position. This role allows you to use your language skills to improve the lives of limited-English speakers, as well as the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, all from the comfort of your home. The interpreters serve clients across various industries, including health care, 911, first responders, education, government agencies, and more. The position offers comprehensive training and numerous opportunities for advancement in a certified ASTM and ISO environment.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Hebrew and English.
  • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
  • Ability to concentrate and remain neutral and objective at all times.
  • Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and write the requested languages.
  • Experience in teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Handle calls on demand and render the meaning of conversations between Hebrew and English speakers.
  • Respond to video and audio interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Participate in online, video and audio training sessions.
  • Deliver interpretation services via video and expediently type data on a dedicated device.
  • Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol.
  • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the interpreting sessions.
  • Remain calm during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations.
  • Follow client instructions to ensure expectations are met with the Limited English-speaking Person (LEP).
  • Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment.
