Heavy Truck Technician Duties: Repairing Trucks right the first time. Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy. Performs all warranty and non-warranty inspection, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work. Diagnoses the cause of any malfunction and performs repair. Must be able to communicate with vendors to order parts needed to complete the job, keep parts organized and paperwork straight to apply to each repair order. Communicates with managers to ensure that maintenance is being taken care of in accordance with Federal Laws and regulations. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Communicate with the manager immediately if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor. Ensures that vehicle is kept clean. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Maintains and is accountable for all company-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment safely.
