About The Position

Pack Rat Hauling, a locally owned and fast-growing hauling company based in Leesburg, VA, is looking for an experienced Mack Mechanic to join our team. We’re seeking a reliable, motivated individual who takes pride in their work and has the skills to keep our fleet running smoothly and safely. This role is ideal for a skilled mechanic who can diagnose, repair, and maintain Mack trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles. Candidates must supply their own tools. Experience with roll-off trucks is a plus but not required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mack truck mechanic, other diesel experience a plus
• Must provide your own tools
• Knowledge of truck systems (engines, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform both major and minor repairs
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety

Nice To Haves

• Roll-off truck repair experience (preferred, but not required)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on Mack trucks and other fleet vehicles
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and safety checks to keep vehicles in peak condition
• Accurately document all repairs and services performed with a fleet maintenance software
• Communicate effectively with operations team regarding truck readiness and repair timelines
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Provide reliable, high-quality service to minimize downtime for the fleet
