About The Position

Heavy Truck Driver II positions drive heavy truck/trailer combination vehicles where the trailer towed has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of over 6,000 pounds and/or vehicles with a total GVW of 54,000 pounds with complex manual transmissions. Responsibilities include completing daily Driver's Inspection Reports, assisting in loading and unloading trucks, performing unskilled construction and maintenance work, and performing other duties as assigned. Employees in this classification may be required to work extended periods of night or unusual shift work for which they may receive additional pay. Some positions may include 24-hour shift work. Heavy Truck Driver II employees who operate commercial vehicles are required by California State Law to submit to drug and alcohol testing. Prior to hire, a background check will be completed regarding drug and alcohol testing results. Some positions require passing a medical physical, respiratory fit test, and obtaining Confined Space Certification within six months from the date of hire.

Requirements

• Six months of full-time experience operating vehicles requiring a California Class A or B Driver License.
• Six months of full-time experience operating construction equipment such as loaders, graders, bulldozers, backhoes, and other similar heavy equipment.
• A valid California Class A Driver License.
• A valid California DMV medical certificate dated within the last two years.

• Valid Tank Endorsement within six months from date of hire.

Benefits

• 2% wage increase effective 1/1/25
• 5% wage increase effective 7/1/25
