About The Position

The Heavy Truck Driver I position involves driving various types of heavy trucks, including single-unit two or three-axle trucks, dump trucks, and refuse packer trucks. Responsibilities include performing pre-trip inspections, maintaining mileage and service records, assisting in loading and unloading trucks, and performing unskilled construction and maintenance work as assigned. Employees may be required to work weekends, extended night shifts, or unusual hours, which may qualify them for additional pay. Compliance with drug and alcohol testing is mandatory for commercial vehicle operators as per California State Law.

Requirements

• Valid California Class A or B Driver License.
• Valid California DMV medical certificate dated within the last two years.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing as required by law.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Tank Endorsement within six months from date of hire (if required by position).
• Unrestricted Class A Driver License (if required by department).

Responsibilities

• Drive heavy trucks and other vehicles as assigned.

Benefits

• Scheduled wage increases of 2% effective 1/1/25 and 5% effective 7/1/25.
• 5% additional pay for working weekends or unusual shifts.
