About The Position

The Automotive Technician/Heavy Repair is responsible for inspection, repair and diagnostic services. Employee must perform major mechanical repairs, including complete engine, transmission and differential overhauls. Employee will perform diagnostics on computer systems, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical/electrical component replacement. Employee must have the ability to explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals, which may include customers and fellow associates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform difficult repairs and work specified repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or OEM standards Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, air conditioning, etc. to specification Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to management and customers Determine needed repair activity and perform repair Perform standard part replacement and capable to complete actions by following the action SMP Lead small groups of other technicians when required without pay adjustment Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made Perform work in a manufacturing facility, which may include working on the assembly line Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Possess current driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Work assigned schedule which may include overtime, multiple shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Arrive to work on-time
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Basic computer skills
  • Be team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Have working knowledge of shop equipment such as diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OEM is preferred

Responsibilities
