Assembles fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and completes units Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications Conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment Regularly stand while performing job duties Use hands frequently for handling, adjusting, or assembling parts; reach with hands and arms Walk, sit, talk, and hear regularly Lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds occasionally Maintain required vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and a usually moderate noise level while performing this job Perform other duties as assigned Please note that this job description is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; able to write basic correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings with customers, clients, and coworkers
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and solve routine problems involving multiple concrete variables
  • Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to perform all essential job duties reliably and effectively
  • Commitment to safety, including wearing safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, completing forklift training when required, using proper lifting techniques, participating in hazard-communication training, and understanding emergency procedures
