About the position

The Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer Leader is responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of heavy mobile equipment. This role involves passing on instructions from supervisors to workers, initiating assignments, checking the progress of tasks, and providing updates to supervisors. The position requires performing complex repairs on various types of commercial and combat tactical automotive support equipment, operating vehicles to check the work of subordinates, and providing guidance on proper maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Passing on instructions to workers received from supervisors.
  • Initiating assignments by identifying immediate tasks to be performed.
  • Checking the progress of assignments for accuracy and compliance with supervisor's instructions.
  • Providing information to supervisors in order to keep them abreast of current progress.
  • Performing more complex repairs on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Operating vehicles in order to check the work of subordinates.
  • Performing repairs on various types of commercial, combat tactical automotive support equipment.
  • Providing guidance and advice to workers involving the proper maintenance procedures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation.
  • This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
  • This position requires a Class A CDL within 180 days of employment.
