About The Position

The Heavy Mobile Electronics Repair Technician shall provide services performing duties of diagnoses, modification, overhaul, repair and maintenance of complex electrical devices, equipment and components, inkling those which are integrated groupings of electrical and related controls containing printed and miniaturized electronic control circuitry.

Requirements

  • Proficient with precision tools and instruments, including micrometers, calipers, spring-adjusting calipers, dial indicators, and electronic test equipment: voltmeters, frequency meters, transfer impedance meters, ohmmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, inductance/capacitance testers, frequency counters, meggers, multimeters, and specialized gear for troubleshooting to the lowest circuit element on single- and multi-layer PCBs.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of shop/trade theory and instrumentation.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
  • ESD certified; current training required (training may be provided by Cherokee Federal Solutions).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Able to work in industrial, field, and office environments.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
  • A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Independently service complex electrical devices, equipment, and components.
  • Test, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, modify, reassemble, and perform final checkouts on items such as junction boxes, instrument panels, cable assemblies, light receptacles, rectifiers, generators/regulators, air cleaner blower motors, traverse motors, distribution boxes, tracer motor accessory control boxes, slip ring assemblies, gun-firing selector switch assemblies, and power relay boxes.
  • Set up and operate computer-controlled automated test equipment (ATE) to run established and new diagnostic programs across operational and functional modes for pretest and final checkout of electrical/electronic and interrelated systems.
  • Prototype, validate, and refine new overhaul and test procedures for items newly introduced into the workload.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
