Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old or older
  • Possess a valid unrestricted state-issued driver's license
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Pass a background check
  • Must hold the following:
  • Valid A&P Certificate 14 CFR 121.378
  • Level III Mechanic Authorization
  • Unrestricted driver's license
  • Familiar with the requirement of SP 7650, Maintenance Recording regarding maintenance records of aircraft, engines, propellers, appliances and other components and/or maintenance functions that are required by applicable FAR’s
  • Have good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to Manager of Heavy Maintenance and Supervisor Heavy Maintenance
  • Reside near the heavy maintenance provider facility
  • Serve as liaison between the Heavy Maintenance Provider and:
  • Manager of Heavy Maintenance Contracts regarding aircraft
  • Manager of Heavy Maintenance
  • Manager of Quality Control Assigned
  • Senior Manager of Quality Control
  • Manager of Quality Assurance
  • Manager of Reliability
  • Ensure that aircraft being inspected and repaired for SkyWest are completed with the highest quality possible
  • Ensure that all paperwork provided to the SGU records department regarding the aircraft is complete, free of omissions and obvious errors and is properly identified
  • Ensure the progress and quality of the heavy maintenance project
  • Monitor and inspect the work being performed on the heavy maintenance project
  • Assist with interpretation and implementation of SkyWest standard practices
  • Ensure that all documentation required by SkyWest is completed
  • Review paperwork frequently to ensure discrepancies and corrective action is being correctly documented
  • Perform Airworthiness Release Authorization and RII functions of completed aircraft(s)
  • Assist with training for the heavy maintenance personnel
  • Assist with receiving inspection of parts provisioning
