About The Position

The Heavy Machine Operator at ZTEX Construction is responsible for operating various types of heavy construction equipment under general supervision. This role requires a proactive and knowledgeable individual who can perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations. The position involves strenuous physical activity and requires the ability to work in varying environmental conditions.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent (GED, foreign equivalency).
• 2-3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in a construction environment.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to enforce them.
• Physical and mental stamina to handle strenuous activities and varying field conditions.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical screening.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to/from work.

Responsibilities

• Operate various heavy construction equipment including graders, excavators, backhoes, and dump trucks.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, checking oil, water, and tire conditions.
• Operate graders for leveling and tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks.
• Transport trash and materials using forklifts and water trucks.
• Conduct general site preparation, landscaping, and removal tasks as required.
• Operate 40-ton trash trucks and hydraulic equipment for waste management.
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, including curb markings and pavement markings.

Benefits
