Own the Shift. Keep the Lines Moving. TekPro has partnered with a renowned manufacturer in the St. Louis area to hire hands-on leaders who can steady the pace of continuous, heavy industrial operations. Picture this: a high-volume production and finishing line runs around the clock. When an unplanned stop hits, you step in—coordinating a union workforce, triaging issues, and restoring flow safely and quickly. These roles span both electrical and mechanical maintenance in a large-scale industrial facility. You’ll be the on-shift leader who blends technical depth with calm, clear direction. What Your Day Can Look Like You start the shift reviewing open work, safety priorities, and crew assignments. Minutes later, a crane with a DC drive trips. You rally union electricians, isolate hazards with lockout/tagout, verify with the correct meters, and guide fault-finding across generators, DMCs, and modern drive systems. Later, you pivot to a gearbox and pump issue—coordinating 15–40 union mechanics depending on department and shift—to get material moving again. Throughout, you communicate status to production, document root causes, and reinforce safety and reliability standards. Electrical Focus Lead and support union electricians during line-downs and outages. Troubleshoot and maintain DC cranes, generators, DMCs, and modern drive systems. Champion arc flash safety, lockout/tagout, and correct test instrument selection. Support rotating 12-hour day/night coverage in a plant restart environment. Mechanical Focus Be hands-on during breakdowns and unplanned downtime events. Coordinate union mechanical trades on shift (approximately 15–40 technicians based on department/shift). Maintain and repair cranes, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and flow meters. Work safely around systems with natural gas and hydrogen exposure. What You Bring 5+ years in industrial maintenance or electrical work—ideally in steel, foundry, power, or heavy manufacturing. Strong knowledge of motors, drives, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and high-voltage distribution. Proven leadership: supervising, coaching, and aligning teams under pressure. Exceptional troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills. Unwavering commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Compensation & Benefits $90k–110k base + 1.5X overtime pay 8–12% profit sharing + 6% 401(k) contribution Why You’ll Love It Large-scale, technically diverse work that keeps you learning. Stable, long-term opportunity with a world-class manufacturing leader. Multiple shift options—choose steady days, consistent afternoons, or rotating coverage. A culture grounded in safety, teamwork, and professional growth.
