Laborer Job Summary This position requires travel! A Heavy Highway Laborer performs manual and equipment-based tasks for road construction, maintenance, and repair, including pothole patching, asphalt work, traffic control, and sign/guardrail repair, often operating loaders. They work with hand/power tools, manage materials, ensure safety, and often work as part of a crew. This position is where we often find and train future leaders for our company. We will train and teach you the necessary skills to help your chances for promotions and raises.

Requirements

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Complete and pass pre-employment testing, including a drug screen and physical
  • High school education or GED equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Road Maintenance: Patching potholes, sealing cracks, applying asphalt/gravel, sweeping, and cleaning roads.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operating trucks, loaders, backhoes, rollers, pavers, and/or skid loaders.
  • Site Upkeep: Managing traffic control (flagging, barricades).
  • Safety & Equipment: Performing safety checks, basic vehicle maintenance, and adhering to safety procedures.
