About The Position

Paul Logistics is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Capacity Manager to support and grow an established book of business within our brokerage division. This role is heavily focused on carrier relationship management, capacity sourcing, and execution of specialized freight. We’re looking for someone who already has existing heavy haul carrier contacts and understands how to navigate the complexities of oversize and overweight freight. This is not an entry-level role, it requires industry knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to move quickly while maintaining compliance. This position will primarily focus on securing capacity for active freight by quoting and coordinating with a network of qualified carriers. You’ll be responsible for gathering 5–10 competitive quotes per load, ensuring proper equipment, compliance, and execution. Over time, this role will evolve into a cradle-to-grave brokerage position, with opportunities to source and grow your own business while leveraging an existing customer base. Why Work With Us? Requirements

  • Prior experience in freight brokerage or carrier management
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Trailer types (RGN, lowboy, step deck, multi-axle, etc.)
  • Oversize/overweight regulations
  • Permit requirements and basics
  • Escort requirements and general compliance
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Existing network of heavy haul / specialized carriers (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Source capacity for heavy haul and specialized freight using an existing carrier network
  • Obtain and evaluate multiple quotes per shipment to ensure competitive pricing and service
  • Coordinate with carriers on equipment selection (RGN, step deck, double drop, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all heavy haul requirements, including permits, routing, and escorts
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners throughout the lifecycle of each load
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers
  • Assist in developing new business opportunities over time
