The Heavy Handling Technician at Airbus Americas, Inc. is responsible for the safe off-loading and delivery of Major Components Assemblies (MCA) to the Final Assembly Line. This role involves operating overhead cranes and heavy equipment to ensure efficient logistics and support for aircraft assembly operations in Mobile, AL.

  • Safely off-load Major Components Assemblies (MCA) from transport jigs to Final Assembly Line transportation trolleys.
  • Operate overhead cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 6.5 tons to 50 tons.
  • Ensure aircraft system readiness and proper configuration for towing operations and cargo loading.
  • Coordinate logistical support for cannibalization and reallocation of aircraft materials.
  • Operate heavy equipment to load/unload shipping containers of MCAs using a 30k forklift.
  • Perform daily pre-operational inspections of ground support equipment (GSE).
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and work-in-progress using daily job cards.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience working with overhead cranes.
  • 3+ years of experience in aviation ramp operations.
  • 3+ years of experience with heavy equipment operations.
  • Familiarity with SAP preferred.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
