About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a Heavy Equipment/Yellow Iron Mechanic to join the team at our location in St Cloud, FL. The working hours are from 6:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday and Saturday as needed. The pay is $30.00 plus an hour DOE.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (both diesel and yellow iron experience).
• CDL is preferred but not required at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Compactor experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment is desired.
• Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
• Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Operates several pieces of yellow iron currently on site including Compactors, Dozers, Excavators, Motor grader, Water truck and Articulated Dump Truck.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
