About The Position

Waste Connections, Inc. has an opening for a high energy self-directed Heavy Equipment Preventative Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Post Oak Landfill in Luling, TX. Previous waste experience would be a huge plus! This will be a Monday - Friday position working 6:00AM–6:00 PM and Possible Saturdays. Plus year round OT. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must have experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous waste experience would be a huge plus!
  • Own tools are strongly encouraged for this position

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance services including oil and lube changes, replacement of lamps, bulbs, replace brake shoes, perform wheel seals, Pressure washing of equipment, replace hydraulic lines and many more minor repairs to keep the equipment running and efficient.
  • Inspect electrical, hydraulics, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilize basic vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Comfortable with assisting with operations by operating different pieces of yellow iron equipment if needed while maintenance duties are slow.
