Dolese Delivers: Stable Foundation Treat with Respect Safe Environments Employee Focus JOB SUMMARY : The primary functions of the Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic include but are not limited to ensuring quality mobile equipment maintenance by performing general and advanced mechanical repairs on all company mobile equipment and vehicles in a safe, efficient and productive manner. This position works a rotating scheduled every two weeks. Day shift 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and night shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Possess a safe work history.
  • Have a positive attitude and proactive approach to our safety program.
  • Mechanic with some experience (1 to 3-years’ experience or more).
  • Ability to use Cat ET program to do basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, fuel, A/C and brake systems.
  • Ability to look up and read electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, research and order parts.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Good safety, behavior and attendance record.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work collectively in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.
  • Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.
  • Willingness to do other work as needed, including heavy labor.
  • Willingness to work outside in all weather extremes.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including swing shift, graveyard shift, over time and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies, MSHA and OSHA.
  • Follow all company policies and local, state and federal regulations for safe working procedures.
  • General and advanced troubleshooting and repairs of all mobile equipment and vehicles including but not limited to engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials and final drives, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, HVAC A/C systems and brake systems.
  • May also include component rebuilding such as engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials and final drives and hydraulic pumps and cylinders.
  • Assisting other mechanics as needed and completing special projects.
  • May be responsible for welding, brazing and cutting associated with the above duties.
  • Ability and knowledge to operate mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair and/or clean mobile equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a neat and professional appearance of self, shop and work areas.
  • Ability to comprehend and complete all needed paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
