About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to support our team across our various industrial uranium mining and processing operations. The Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment, and machinery to ensure safe and reliable operations. This position requires expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, along with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to workplace safety. The Heavy Equipment Technician will support plant operations, wellfields, and mobile equipment used in mining and processing operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive, industrial, or heavy equipment maintenance
  • Hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, and air brake systems
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and mechanical systems
  • Skilled in welding, fabrication, and using hand/power tools
  • Experience with diagnostic software, alignment tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely
  • Strong problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles and heavy equipment, including:
  • Tractors, backhoes, manlifts, forklifts, and industrial machinery
  • Diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and suspension systems
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, suspension adjustments, and transmission servicing
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools, welding equipment, and schematics
  • Operate and repair specialized equipment, including Caterpillar machinery and hydraulics
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, including automotive wiring, soldering, and diagnostic testing
  • Use power tools and precision instruments for alignment, wheel balancing, and other mechanical adjustments
  • Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs, upgrades, or relocation
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Perform heavy lifting and material handling safely, following all safety protocols
  • Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
