About The Position

As a Heavy Equipment Technician , you’ll be the go-to expert for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining advanced 12-volt electronic and IoT systems on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. You’ll travel across the country, supporting leading companies and making sure their equipment performs at its best—all while representing Velociti’s commitment to quality, safety, and innovation. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in 12-volt electronics, automotive, mechanical, or related technical work.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and basic electrical knowledge (DVOM testing, battery systems, etc.).
  • System voltages from 12 volt to 48 volt DC power.
  • Understanding of hydraulics and electrical drive systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Velociti’s insurance guidelines.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Comfort with frequent nationwide travel including overnight, weekends, and overtime to meet customer demands.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a knack for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and follow procedures precisely.
  • Basic tech skills—Microsoft Office, mobile apps, digital documentation.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds, stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders,
  • Perform physical tasks in varied environments and temperatures both indoors and outdoors.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty vehicle lines.
  • Formal technical training or certification in automotive, electrical, or electronics repair.
  • Prior field service or mobile installation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Travel nationwide to install, troubleshoot, and repair advanced electronic and IoT technology systems on heavy equipment.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on installed systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with quality standards.
  • Utilize diagnostic computers and software for troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Perform all work in accordance with standard operating procedures, engineering specifications, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services performed using mobile computing devices and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, team members, and project leaders to ensure clarity of expectations and resolution of issues.
  • Independently manage service schedules and travel itineraries in coordination with dispatch or operations teams.
