About The Position
As a Heavy Equipment Technician at Komatsu, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy construction equipment, including cranes, diesel engines, on-highway trucks, buses, and marine and industrial machinery. This position is based in our Holbrook, NY branch, where you will work in a shop environment, primarily during day shifts from Monday to Friday. Your expertise will contribute to the operational efficiency of our equipment, ensuring that our customers can rely on the machinery they use for their projects. In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment, both in the shop and potentially in the field. You will document all machine information and repairs in our work order system, ensuring accurate records are maintained. A clean and organized work area is essential, as is the professional care of all machines, equipment, and shop tools. You will also be expected to identify and communicate additional repair and maintenance opportunities to management, which will help increase customer uptime and satisfaction. Continuous learning is a key aspect of this position. You will be encouraged to maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold by the dealership and to participate in company-sponsored training and meetings to enhance your skills. Safety is paramount, and you will be required to follow all safety policies and procedures while performing your work. Building and maintaining positive relationships with peers, management, and customers is essential, as teamwork and exemplary customer support are core values at Komatsu. This position offers competitive wages ranging from $40.31 to $55.40 per hour, depending on your experience, along with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.
