About The Position

Milton CAT is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Service Technician for an in-shop position within our Earthmoving Division. As a Heavy Equipment Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, reconditioning, overhauling, and maintaining customer and company heavy equipment and components. Pay Rate: $21.29 - $42.45 an hour based on location and experience. This is a union position. Why Milton CAT? Requirements

  • Requires a certificate or associates degree in diesel technology or two years direct work experience.
  • Must be proficient in transmission, engines, hydraulics and electrical.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in the use of a computer.
  • The ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced service environment with minimal supervision.
  • A tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
  • The ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Remove, disassemble, assemble, and install components and parts.
  • Identify problems and causes of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
  • Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
  • Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in tooling, technologies, and systems.
  • Prepare accurate inspections and complete service reports.
  • Adhere to all established safety protocols and standards, utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Be flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
