About The Position

The Recycling and Forestry Sales Representative is responsible for selling and supporting Vermeer recycling and forestry products within an assigned territory. This role involves engaging with customers, selling new and used equipment, and providing rental and service solutions. The representative will also be tasked with maintaining customer relationships and developing a strong knowledge of the product line and competitive offerings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years sales experience in the heavy equipment construction industry or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Computer skills required including all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude required.
  • Personal appearance must be neat and clean.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements of the Company Driver Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Equipment knowledge or previous industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to relocate before starting work.

Responsibilities

  • Calling on customers in assigned territory to sell new and used equipment, rentals, and parts and service solutions.
  • Identifying and cultivating new sales opportunities.
  • Following up and maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Developing and maintaining strong knowledge of Vermeer equipment line-up and competitive products.
  • Conducting demonstrations of equipment in the field and/or operating machinery at customer job sites.
  • Coordinating delivery and pickup of equipment from customers.
  • Processing all quotes, sales, rentals, and lease-purchase agreements.
  • Supporting customer and company needs during the financing and/or credit application process.
  • Assisting with account receivables collections.
  • Effectively understanding and using all manufacturer's programs and resources to generate new business.
  • Representing the Company at factory, industry, and company events, including meetings and training.
  • Following all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhering to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and the employee handbook.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned by management professionally and efficiently.
