Heavy Equipment Operators - Elko Area (6/1 Schedule | 5-Month Project)
About The Position
We are hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for a 5-month mining/heavy civil project in Northern Nevada operating on a 6 days on / 1 day off schedule. This role is well suited for operators based in Elko or the surrounding area, or those open to local arrangements, including nearby campgrounds, while benefiting from paid travel time and a strong daily per diem. The project duration is approximately 5 months, with a rotation of 6 days on / 1 day off and 12-hour shifts, typically resulting in 72+ hours per week. Daily transportation is provided from Elko, including 2 hours of paid daily travel time. Company accommodations are not provided; candidates must arrange their own lodging (local housing or nearby campgrounds).
Requirements
- 3+ years operating experience in mining or heavy civil environments
- MSHA Part 48 (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work a near‑continuous schedule
Nice To Haves
- Haul road, pad, or bulk earthworks experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Operating Dozers (D6–D10)
- Operating Excavators (20T–90T)
- Operating Rock Trucks (40T–100T)
- Operating Graders (14M–16M)
Benefits
- $35/hour + overtime
- Typical earnings: approximately $3,000 per week, depending on hours worked
- $175 per day per diem (paid for scheduled workdays)
