About The Position
We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our operations in North Little Rock, Arkansas. This role involves operating a material handler (similar to an excavator), wheel loader, and articulating dump truck to load, unload, and sort scrap materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience operating heavy machinery or driving a semi-tractor/trailer is a plus — training will be provided.
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs independently and 100+ lbs with assistance.
Nice To Haves
- Basic machine maintenance knowledge is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment to load and unload trucks, semi-trailers, and rail cars.
- Sort and relocate scrap materials within the yard.
- Inspect inbound and outbound loads for safety and compliance.
- Perform routine maintenance such as greasing and oil changes.
- Assist with minor crane maintenance and general labor tasks.
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
