Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8nddK1NZSk As a 2nd Shift Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll play a key role in supporting a wide range of operational activities within a fast-paced, high-energy production environment. Your work will contribute directly to the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies that form the backbone of some of the most advanced rail vehicles in the world.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, state-recognized GED, or an equivalent blend of education and experience
  • At least three years of hands-on experience operating heavy equipment
  • Proven proficiency in various rigging methods and tie-down techniques
  • A valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled vehicle movements throughout the facility with remote-controlled heavy equipment
  • Apply strong mechanical knowledge to daily tasks
  • Secure rail vehicles using specialized tie-down methods and materials
  • Direct Heavy Equipment Riggers to perform tasks to complete all scheduled moves in a safe and timely manner
  • Conduct visual inspections and establish quality checks on all equipment and rigging
  • Operate hand and power shop tools safely and effectively
  • Read and interpret blueprints; use hand and power tools with precision
  • Assist with special activities throughout the facility.
  • Perform maintenance tasks based on production blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions, covering equipment used in production, transportation, or facility operations
  • Communicate clearly and follow instructions accurately
