Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence Precision Operation: Expertly maneuver heavy equipment (Excavators, Front-loaders, Balers, Bobcats, and Bulldozers) to process, bale, and load waste materials. Machine Stewardship: Take ownership of your equipment through daily inspections, fluid checks, and lubrication to ensure peak performance. Proactive Maintenance: Clear debris from tracks and gear mechanisms daily to prevent downtime and preserve company assets. Communication & Collaboration Field Syncing: Utilize two-way radios to coordinate with the office and field crews, ensuring site priorities are met efficiently. Versatility: Step in for team members as needed, demonstrating a "one team" mentality to keep the site running smoothly. Safety & Compliance Standard Bearer: Attend all safety and branch meetings; adhere strictly to federal, state, and local regulations. Site Pride: Maintain the appearance of the facility grounds to uphold GFL’s professional corporate image. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a waste, construction, or industrial setting is highly preferred. Certifications: Valid Forklift Certification (Required). High School Diploma/GED (Preferred). Willingness/Ability to obtain Transfer Station / Landfill Operations Certification. Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic math proficiency and the ability to interpret equipment gauges accurately. Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal). Physical Demands & Working Conditions Environment: Thrive in an outdoor, 100% field-based role. You are comfortable working in various weather conditions and moderate-to-loud noise environments. Physicality: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform active tasks including climbing, stooping, and kneeling. Stamina: Capable of operating machinery within a covered cab for extended periods. Requirements

  • Valid Forklift Certification (Required).
