This job is located in Hayden, CO These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage: Pay $25-$35 per hour A culture that champions our Team Members Uniforms and laundry service Paid Time Off (“PTO”) Paid holidays Profit Sharing Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) A culture of safety As the Coal Handling Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling bulk coal material around the facility including: unloading locomotive cars, operate and monitoring the coal handling systems, operating equipment to manage the reclaim coal pile and fill plant storage bunkers, performing routine and preventive inspections, as well as maintenance on various machines and equipment in our facility, snow removal and various other tasks throughout the facility. This is an entry-level position that can provide a busy, fulfilling career with opportunities for growth and training.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work from written and/or verbal instructions
  • Work with a team, take direction from supervisors(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
  • Safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
  • Work rotating shifts and overtime as required
  • Follow all rules, safety procedures, and outlines by Savage
  • High School or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Equipment/material handling experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operates conveyor system to transport dry bulk products
  • Operates dozer/loader to move coal and feeder conveyor
  • Operate off-road dump truck, 6-wheel drive
  • Manage unloading of trains and securing railcar doors
  • Complete onboarding, New Hire Rail Training, and additional tasks as assigned
  • Learn welding skills
  • Get fit tested and wear a respirator per OSHA standards
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
